프리다 칼로의 그림을 보고,

영감을 받았다고, 롤링스톤지 인터뷰에 밝힌 바 있다.

여담으로는 프랑스 혁명 후 폐위된 샤를 10세의 이야기

노래 가사의 주인공이 나폴레이옹이라는 두 가지 속설로 해석하기도 한다.

멕시코 출신 화가. 멕시코 민중벽화의 거장 디에고 리베라와 결혼으로 유명해졌으나,

교통사고로 인한 신체적 불편과 남편의 문란한 사생활에서 오는 정신적 고통을 극복하고

삶에 대한 강한 의지를 작품으로 승화시켰다. 1970년대 페미니스트들의 우상으로 인식되었다.

나도 인생이여 만세라는 글자를 가슴속에 세기며,

희망을 잃지 않고 살아가기 위해 노력해야겠다.
